Emily Hopkins

Emily Hopkins lives and works in the Hudson River Valley of New York and Mid-Coast Maine. She received her BFA in Painting from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. Working in large-scale abstraction, Hopkins creates bold, layered paintings that draw on memory, observation, and the emotional experience of landscape. Her intuitive use of gesture, color, and texture evokes the shifting sensations of nature rather than depicting it directly.

Hopkins has exhibited widely throughout New York and Maine, with solo and group exhibitions at venues including Center for Maine Contemporary Art, Perry Lawson Fine Art, Garner Arts Center, Carver Hill Gallery, and Cynthia Winings Gallery. Her work is held in private collections throughout the United States.
