Join us at the gallery for a special First Friday evening celebrating Nightfall, our current exhibition devoted to the mystery and beauty of the night sky.
I’m honored to welcome Nancy Hathaway, co-founder of Dark Sky Maine, who will share about Maine’s Dark Sky Heritage and how we can help preserve it (5:30). Ray Santullo, a Blue Hill–based astronomer, will set up his telescope for lunar viewing in advance of NASA’s International Observe the Moon Night. And thanks to Pugnuts Ice Cream Shop, there will be a special dark-sky-inspired flavor to enjoy.
This program is presented as part of Dark Sky Maine’s seasonal festival and celebrates the gallery’s commitment to connecting art with the natural world. I am grateful to Nancy Hathaway, Dark Sky Maine, and all participating artists for inspiring us to turn our gaze upward!
